TIME CAPSULE TESTIMONIES:

On Sunday, December 31, 2006, we sealed hundreds of prayer requests in a Time Capsule and have been praying every week for God to do miracles. Within the first few days of January, we began to hear the reports of answered prayer. Throughout the year, those reports have continued to come in. God is so very faithful.

We've opened the Time Capsule and mailed the cards back to you. We encourage you to thank God for all He's done through answered prayer. We're also asking you to share your answered prayers with the church family.

With reference to 2007 time capsule prayer requests. I have seen evidence of most of my prayer requests but 2 especially.

I prayed that I would have less fear of losing loved ones. Since the sudden death of my beloved sister in 1993 I have feared that I would lose my husband and my children. That fear has gone from a huge worry to nothing much more than a thought once in a while.

I also prayed to be more obedient to God. I did NOT want to tithe. It was a good principle but being the accountant of the family I kept saying that we couldn't. My husband and God urged me to take the step. We started tithing in Feb. and the blessings have flowed. We have always been able to make it. Now in Dec. '07 my pay has been increased by my employer by 10%!!

As I was going over my 2007 time capsule prayer list, I couldn't help but stand in awe at the faithfulness of our God; time and time again He is faithful in spite of our unfaithfulness to Him. All of my unspoken needs were answered. 

I am now part of the healing rooms once again. And I see the Lord working in the lives of my children & grandchildren, and He has answered me that He has begun a good work in them, and He will complete it, for He is the author and the finisher of their faith.

Of my prayer requests for 2007 in the time capsule, the answered prayers have been:

My children will live for the Lord - in one's life there is evidence that he is more aware of seeking the Lord & applying knowledge, in the other's life there is a very noticeable change in his life!

Job situation - My company was sold & my position was not continued. After initially being told I would not be offered employment, a new position was in fact offered to me. I do not know where it all will lead, but no question that God heard my prayer and changed my job situation!

One of my prayer requests for the 2007 time capsule was for a friend of our son. While I'm not aware that he's given his life to the lord, (my prayer) we have had some opportunities this past year to share the gospel with him and just show him Christ's love. He also came to Fuel with my son. And so I want to praise God for what He is doing.

I also prayed for a mission trip for my son, believing this experience would be a good experience for him and change his perspective a little. Thanks to Life Link Church he (and I) were able to go on the trip to Mexico. I thank God for this answered prayer.

Another answered prayer was for a greater hunger for God and His Word for our family.

I also prayed that we would be able to give more (financially) every month and God has answered this prayer.

In October of 2006 our daughter was diagnosed by the school psychologist as having Selective Mutism. This is a social anxiety,basically it is a fear of talking. Grandparents,aunts, and uncles hadn't heard her talk and thought that she was unable to. She was so afraid of people that when in public she wouldn't even ear. She wouldn't even eat cake or open her birthday presents at her birthday party.

Late last year we began to put her in a preschool program that works with children like our daughter. By January we were ready to pull her from the program. Sending her was torture on us; she would scream and cry, and I would have to physically hold her down while they buckled her into the seat on the bus. It was always so traumatic on both of us that after she left I would cry. Our pediatrician told us to keep with it for 3 more months and reevaluate at that time.

Just over a year ago, just before our life group began our daughter said her first words to someone outside of the family, Pastor Dave. Today she is still shy, but 1,000 times better. She interacts at school and in most situations she will talk to others. Our pediatrician is impressed with her improvement, as is the school. Everyone is amazed at how fast she has improved, but we know that it is our miracle from God.

I am so excited to share my testimony of how incredible God is and that he truly does hear and answer prayer! I suppose like many, at times my faith wasn't always as strong as I wished it had been, and there were times I may have even had doubts about unanswered prayer. Through Life Groups, last semester's in particular, I learned how to pray with conviction and faith, thanking God for what he had already done and what He would do. It has changed my prayer life tremendously.

I will forever remember December 31, 2006, filling out my time capsule card, walking out of church that day, feeling that something big was about to happen. God didn't disappoint! My #1 request was for good health for my then infant son and my mother, who comes to AZ every winter for several months. For the last few years, she would arrive healthy, and within weeks, become very ill; to the point she was beginning to dread her visits here. On the same note, my son had been chronically sick with upper respiratory issues. I could count the days he was well more than those he was sick. We went to doctor after doctor with no explanation for what ailed him.

As I got ready to leave service that day, a church member came up to me, touched me on the arm and said, "The presence of the Lord was very strong around your husband and you today. I don't know why, but the Holy Spirit told me to tell you that your family will be restored in 2007." Now let me mention that we are not close personal friends. She doesn't know anything about my family, and I know her only well enough to say 'hi' at church, however I do know she is a huge prayer warrior with a very strong sense of the Holy Spirit. I left that day, wondering what it could possibly mean. Could she be referring to my sister and her broken marriage? I pray for her constantly, and this was the first thing that came to mind. Was there some other rift in the family I was unaware of? I was anxious to see what was about to happen....

Four days later, it all came together! I had called a plumber to investigate a possible leak that I suspected had been going on for some time in my master bath. The cabinets had begun to warp and I feared if I didn't do something soon, I cold have big plumbing problems on my hands. After many hours, it was discovered we had a slow leak behind the drywall, form the bathtub, that had been going on for years, undetected. Our bathroom was filled with black mold! It suddenly occurred to me what a health issue this was if breathed in for extended periods of time. Could this possibly explain my son's chronic coughing, runny nose and respiratory issues as well as my mom getting sick for the last few years of coming to winter with us? But wait! There's more... The plumber fixed the leak, but said he would need to refer us to a specialist to do the mold cleanup. He gave me a business card with a company that specializes in water damage and hazardous cleanup. They came immediately and proceeded the process of mold removal from our bathroom. I went outside, and big as life was their van, RAINBOW RESTORATION & CLEANING. The words that she so clearly said to me just 4 days earlier rang in my head. If I ever had any doubts that God answers prayer, they all dissolved that very moment! Within a few weeks, my son got better, a spot the doctors had found on his lung had completely disappeared and for the first time since he was born, he was completely healthy! My mom no longer gets sick every time she comes here, and FIVE of my seven prayer requests have since been answered! But the one that mattered the most, the top of my list, was answered within 4 days of me asking. I tell you this story in hopes of encouraging others to surrender to God and put total faith and trust in Him, that He does hear prayer ad moves in ways we may never understand.

Matthew 7:7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

I look for ward to Time Capsule Sunday 2007 to see how God moves through my life in 2008!
